The same cards, a different agreement
Our teaching ledger gives a twenty-point Gin bonus. With a defender count of eighteen, the round award is thirty-eight. The defender cannot lay off against Gin. A defender count of zero still leaves the Gin bonus.
Apps can choose another profile
MobilityWare’s published scoring help describes Gin 25 and undercut settings of 25 or 10. It also describes a separate Big Gin category. Those are provider settings, not a reason to silently change the rules of this site’s ledger.
Scope matters
Our calculator accepts exactly ten post-discard cards. It does not evaluate an eleven-card Big Gin. Our ledger has Gin, knock and void endings only, and does not award Big Gin or match bonuses.
Before a session
Write the bonus profile near the score sheet. If your agreement differs, do not use this fixed-profile tool as an official scorekeeper. You can still read the general explanations and check a ten-card hand’s standalone deadwood.
